Namdalsrose  (Norw. syn) Pimpinellifolia  (unknown origin) Growth: bushy, open with arching branches, app 1,5 m     Leaves: small, green, fern like   Flower: yellow, double, with scent   Flowering time: Jun/Jul   prolific   Planting tips: sheltered, sunny place, tolerates meager soil, hardy (H7). Prop. same as 'Double Yellow'.
Nuits de Young (Black Moss) Shrub   (Laffay 1845) Growth: open, upright, app 1,2m     Leaves: dark green, slim leaves   Flower: brownish red, small, double, in cluster, scent   Flowering time: Jun/Jul   Planting tips: sheltered, sunny place, good soil,  (H5). Prone to mildew.
Officinalis Shrub (gallica) ("The Apothecary's Rose", before 1300)  Growth: upright, app 100 cm   Leaves: dull green   Flower: light crimson, large, semi double, open with visible yellow stamens, some scent   Flowering time: Jun/Jul   Planting tips: sheltered, sunny place, good soil,  hardy, (H6). World known.
Persian Yellow  Shrub (R.x foetidahybride)  (Willock 1837) Growth: bushy, app 150 cm   Leaves: small, yellowish green, prone to blackspot   Flower: medium, double, yellow, unpleasant scent    Flowering time: Jun/Jul   Planting tips:   sheltered, sunny place, good soil,  hardy, (H6)
Rosa foetida bicolor  Shrub  (before 1590)  Growth: open, upright, app 2m     Leaves: small, dull green   Flower: single, orange red and yellow on same bush, unpleasant scent   Flowering time: Jun/Jul   Planting tips: sheltered, sunny place, good soil, (H7). Prone to blackspot.
Rosa glauca (No:Doggrose) (Specie) Growth: upright, loose, app 2,5-3m   Leaves: small, nice bluish, reddish branches   Flower: single, purple pink, in clusters, beautiful hips    Flowering time: Jun/Jul   Planting tips: sheltered, sunny place, good soil,  hardy, (H7). Prone to rust.
Rosa helenae 'hybrida'  Rambler    (From China)   Growth: upright, open, app 400 cm, need support    Leaves: small, slim, semi-glossy   Flower: small, semi double, yellow to white, in large clusters, very prolific,  nice scent  Flowering time: Jun/Jul  Planting tips: sheltered, sunny place, good soil,  hardy (H6)
R.pimp. plena ("The White Rose of Finland")  Shrub   (unknown origin) Growth: upright, bushy, arching branches, app 1,5-2 m     Leaves: small, green, fern like   Flower: white, semi double, scented   Flowering time: Jun/Jul, very prolific   Planting tips: sheltered, sunny place, good soil, tolerates meager soil, (H7). (Probably the same rose as "Totenvikrosa")

(One of hardiest roses in the world)

Splendens   (Frankfurt)  Gallica (Frankofurtana) (unknown origin)   Growth: bushy, upright, app 120 cm     Leaves: leathery, fresh, dark green   Flower: single or almost single, red, medium large, hips    Flowering time: Jun/Jul   Planting tips: sheltered, sunny place, tolerate meager soil,   hardy (H6).  Commen in many old Norwegian gardens.
Suaveolens   (No:kystkvitrose)  Shrub (alba)    (unknown origin)  Growth: bushy, kraftig vekst, app 2-2,5 m     Leaves: grey green,   Flower: white, semi double, yellow stamens, nice scent    Flowering time: Jun/jul, prolific   Planting tips: sheltered, sunny place, good soil, hardy (H6). Prone to rust.
Stanwell Perpetual  Shrub/pimpinellifolia  (Lee 1838) Growth: spreading, bushy,  app 150 cm tall, same width   Leaves: small, fern like   Flower: large, double, flat, blush pink, strong scent    Flowering time: Jun-Sep   Planting tips: sheltered, sunny place, tolerate meager soil, hardy (H6). Good as hedge.
